Mahbubul Alam
Mahbubul Alam possesses deep entrepreneurial skills in international technology management and is a frequent author and speaker on the topic of Internet of Things and automotive. Alam is also a CIO 2016 Honoree, awarded by Silicon Valley Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times. He was an insightful leader and internal start-up creator at network leader Cisco and is now the driver of tomorrow’s technology-driven vehicles as the CTO/CMO of Movimento Group, which in January 2017 was acquired by Delphi Automotive PLC. His simple mantra is “Timing is Key”.
Prior to joining Movimento, Alam spent 14 years at Cisco where he created a series of now-renowned products and businesses including the flagship 4G LTE multi-service router, the IoT edge-cloud gateway, the next-generation Integrated Services Router, Enterprise Mobility Solutions and more. Alam pioneered and developed the IoT/M2M vision, strategy, platform and execution plan apart from initiating the company’s Smart Connected Car roadmap. He grew Cisco Enterprise IoT/M2M business from nothing to $350 million in four years. He also created several successful internal startups within Cisco, such as IoT vertical solutions for the transportation, manufacturing and mining industries. He drove corporate investment decisions, ranging between $100 million and $3 billion and directed numerous Cisco portfolios, including the $4 billion Access Routing Technology Group.
Alam was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and later moved to Netherland after receiving a scholarship to attend a prestigious boarding high school. Later, he was awarded Masters degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Netherland’s renowned Delft University of Technology, with a focus on personal mobile and radar communications.
Neeli R. Prasad
Neeli R. Prasad is a security, networking and Internet of Things (IoT) strategist. She has throughout her career been driving business and technology innovation, from incubation to prototyping to validation and is currently an entrepreneur and consultant in Silicon Valley. She has made her way up the “waves of secure communication technology by contributing to the most groundbreaking and commercial inventions. She has general management, leadership and technology skills, having worked for service providers and technology companies in various key leadership roles. She is the advisory board member for the European Commission H2020 projects and also a member of IEEE Communication Society Globecom/ICC Management & Strategy Committee (COMSOC GIMS) and Chair of the Marketing, Strategy and Staff Liaison Group.
Prasad has led global teams of researchers across multiple technical areas and projects in Japan, India, throughout Europe and USA. She has been involved in numerous research as well as development projects and has played key roles from concept to implementation to standardization. Her strong commitment to operational excellence, innovative approach to business and technological problems and aptitude for partnering cross-functionally across the industry have reshaped and elevated her role as project coordinator making her a preferred partner in multinational and European Commission project consortiums.
Prasad received her Masters degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Netherland’s renowned Delft University “of Technology, with a focus on personal mobile and radar communications. She was awarded her Ph.D. degree from Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”, Italy, on Adaptive Security for Wireless Heterogeneous Networks.
